Josie is 6 weeks old!

Josie is growing strong and healthy! She is 6 weeks old and weighs 8 lb 2 oz!

Snow!

I hope your all not getting tired of the photo montages. They are fun for me and easy to upload a lot of pictures at once! :0)

This was the first snow we got in Orem. Tori loved it! She stayed until her nose was red!

Tori is 2!

Our little girl is 2! I can't believe how big she is. She has grown so much in these two years. We spent it with Aunt Ruth and Uncle Paul at our house, and Grandma and Papa Volk, Megan and Jake on Skype!
Some of her favorite things right now are: Lion. Music. Dancing. Baby Josie. Bananas. Caullio. Dora. Yogurt.

Uncle Aaron's Visit!

Aaron was awesome enough to buy a ticket out to Utah to see his new niece and be apart of her blessing! It was short but sweet! We went to dinner at T.G.I.Friday's where they were offering a buy one get one Veteran's Meal weekend. Yum! Tori loved seeing her Uncle "Ern!" and using him instead of Daddy as a jungle gym!
It was so nice to see you! Can't wait until December!

Josephine's Blessing

I am waaay due on some posts! Well start with Josephine's blessing and work our way up to date! Spencer had requested this time around that we bless in a simpler manner and have close family and friends come to our house. We have recently moved into a new place! We are no longer living in our Ogden apartment, but in a ground level duplex in Orem! I love it! We had a duplex in NC before we moved and I so missed it when we were living in our 3rd floor apartment!

Anyways, I am so thankful for Grandpa and Grandma Lewis, Grandpa and Grandma Liz and Aaron ,Sarah, Vince, Ruth and Paul who came for the blessing!) I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked, but I did take a few.

My girls!

My girls are wonderful! Tori is adjusting well, except for her waking up at 3am ready to party, things are going well. She is learning to be gentle with her new sister. Loves to hold her. hug and kiss her all day! I am so proud of her!

The big POOP!

Today started off on an decent foot. I woke up not totally exhausted, the girls were in good moods. Changed diapers, ate some breakfast and watch some Caillou. Things seem to be going good!

Then... second round of diaper changes for miss Josie. I was changing her diaper like normal, she tends to pee right after you've cleaned her and have put a new diaper on. So, I gave her a few extra seconds to pee or not pee. Apparently, I gave her a second too many and she SHOT POOP everywhere! I guess she was a little backed up or something! It went EVERYWHERE! Tori was cute and said "UH-OH" as I am covered. My thighs to my chin! Up my arm and to my hand! Yuck! I was surprised I didn't puke everywhere..


I immediately took off my clothes and put them in the washer (SO HAPPY TO HAVE MY WASHER AND DRYER BACK!) when I returned to the Poop-atraitor, Tori was wiping what poop had gotten onto the blanket with a wet-one. A big sister we have on our hands! Willing to help no matter how messy the poop gets!

Well that was our morning so far. It's just now 9:15am here. It can only get better.. :0)

Welcome Baby Josephine!!

After making no progress for a week my doctor and I decided for an induction Tuesday morning!

They scheduled me for 8 am and after all the paperwork
and being poked about 5 times attempting

an IV line, they started the Pitocin around 10am.

After about 2 hours my doctor came in and tried

to break my water! I say tried because it took 2 or 3 good pricks to break it. :)

Labor quickly ensued after that!
When the contractions were about unbearable

I felt the lovely pressure of Baby and was checked and within 45 mins I went from a 5 to 9, and ready

to push!

And, about 3 pushes came our new sweet baby girl!

Josephine Ann Volk! At 2:17 pm mountain time,
A beautiful full dark head of hair, 7 lbs 6 oz and 20 inches long!

A petite little thing compared to our Tori at 8 lbs 9 oz 21 inches long!

Both Mom and Baby are doing great! I went without an epidural this time, PAINFUL, but so worth it afterwards!
